Elise Pomerance, MD, MPH
Elise is a board-certified family medicine physician providing direct primary care for 20+ years. After having some of her own health challenges, she discovered functional medicine as a holistic approach to health leading to a special interest in gut health.
Elise has an undergraduate degree from Amherst College. She earned a MD from UCLA School of Medicine and a Master of Public Health from Harvard Chan School of Public Health. Elise completed functional medicine training through the Kalish Institute and is pursuing certification in functional medicine through the Institute for Functional Medicine. Elise lives in Pasadena, CA with her fur baby, Sadie.

Sweena Burroughs, FNP, MSN, MPH
Sweena is a nurse practitioner with 14 years of experience providing direct primary care, specializing in adult and women’s health. She earned her degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner at UC San Francisco School of Nursing and completed her Master of Public Health at UC Berkeley School of Public Health. In addition, Sweena has completed the UC Davis Primary Care Psychiatry and UC Irvine Addiction Medicine certification programs.
Sweena completed functional medicine training through the Kalish Institute and is pursuing functional medicine certification through the Institute for Functional Medicine. She lives in Berkeley, CA, with her husband, two kids, and four chickens. Sweena can be seen for in-person appointments at the Manzanita Wellness Clinic.
